just for completeness (of the picture):
ordered late friday night, received the plug monday morning, returned the request string around noon and received my key early in the evening - that's perfect

tnx Craig and cheers, Tom

and to be finally able to listen I'll have to install SFP on my Win2K server machine, which I'm currently using to surf the web  because the Celeron box just passed away...

Okay, Craig sent me the devices but still no serial. I thought shopping online was supposed to be easier than brick and mortar. Bring back the middle men warehouse and UPS truck!!!!!!

How come they can engineer thousands of lines of computer code but can't manage to complete a simple credit card transaction? I swipe my card through the gas pump and it takes 3 seconds to get authorization and start pumping my GAS!

@Warp69:
How are your sales doing? I've seen some improvement in the amount of people interested in your verbs over the last month or two.
I hope you're doing fine since your verbs are terrific and I'd like to see more stuff coming.

I have the A-100 and I-100, they sound great!

But hardly any presets - I know I am lazy, I like a wide range to start editing from. Now I have made a load of 'experimental' reverbs! What fun!!

Definately worth getting if you only have MasterVerb, as I have. the bigger 4080 would be nice but it costs much more.

I am also getting PCI Overload messages for the first time in ages, so I am buying a Pro card. I think it is having trouble communicating across the P2 / L2 / P1 SRB set up (13 dsp) I have cobbled together over the years.
Is there something about actual RAM on the UAD card? For reverbs that use a lot of hmm... whatever it is they use, there is a lot of processing for reverb. Doesn't the dsp handle all that?

PCI overload is more a thing of the pci bus...more powerful the reverbs, more bandwidth used, that's natural, you can't use too many.

But when you have such great sounding reverbs, a couple of them can be more than enough for a wonderful mix.

I got the serial and sent the string. Maybe this is the wrong place and I hope it's not out of line but it is getting more tedious to buy this than I had imagined it would be. Perhaps you guys could get together with creamware and make a system in which you could with one mouse click buy, download, install and register a product without us having to jump through so many hoops. You neglected to mention in your email that you can not copy the string to your clipboard if something is already on it. In this case it was my serial number. I'm sure I will enjoy it like you said but so far my shopping experience is worse than a trip to the mall.

well, derive comfort from the fact that the biggest difference between you and me is that you have a copy and I don't...Image

Then you will have to visit... which reminds me of the clause in the spectrasonics agreement which says that if someone comes to my house they may play the samples but the results can not be published.

If you come over and play my spectrasonic samples and it sounds very good we may have to put in print that I played it. Then I would slip you some money under the table.

I have it working. It sounds really natural but I can only use 1 Ambience in my normal setup with mixer, ADAT module, audio drivers, etc and 2 instances of Vinco. I have 11 DSP chips. The load reads roughly 1/3 of the DSP.

When I load a second Ambience to all that, it overloads.

... almost certainly due to PCI limits
On a 'regular' system one cannot load 2 of Warp's devices simultaneously and he already explained the whys and hows.

Anyway, that stuff is tweakable in such a subtle way that one will hardly do it 'live' like. Better pick a small recorded part and check the best settings while looping.

Since the modualation isn't midi synced some extra effort for adjustment is required, but WHAT A REWARD...
I also agree that it 'sounds great' in the classical 'put the sound into a room' app, but what really blew my mind was using it as an FX with time and lfo modulation - that opens a universe
I used a loop from the sh*tty Yamaha DX200 and it came out soooo BIG and expensive.

I don't mind one or two small annoyances (out of Warp's reach anyway) if the device literally lifts my cheapo crap into the $1k range.
This is the 2nd time for me, #1 was the CD100 'giveaway' that turned the $50 Casio sax into a true instrument.
Don't get me wrong, I mean the INTERNAL sound of that toy, not a midi controlled Pulsar synth...

So I'm a 200% satisfied customer and I'd pay even twice the current price for the next release. The devices are a true steal and that one small extra step spares the usual challenge response BS.
I bought 3 devices from STW meanwhile and all were handled within 3 days max

cheers, Tom

I agree with all that but I wonder if it can be optimized. It would be nice if there is an update for it at some point. Is this possible?

once CWA comes out with a new hardware design that includes memory on the card (or in the box) it IS updated immediately.
Imagine a box with several of such algorithms plus the Echo3 hold together and spiced by a Flexor patch OMG
something beyond any competition

Apart from that there is of course the midi syncability left out currently, but Warp is aware of that.

cheers, Tom

ps: CWA will (have to) release that new hardware sooner or later - or they will go down the drain - sad, but simple.

Thanks Martin Lind for another trully great reverb.

In my opinion, these P-100, A-100 and I-100 are greatly superior to CW Masterverb Pro.

These reverbs are absolutes musts if anyone want to transform his CW cards in true realtime high-end reverbs.

Thanks again, Martin.

Hey,

@geoffd99 : Hardly any presets?? There're almost 100 presets for the A100&I100... Do you mean even more presets? The 4080L is NOT bigger - the P100, A100 and I100 (and forth coming reverbs) are the top of the line. Well - there will probably come enhanced versions.

@Braincell : Im able to load 2 instances of the reverbs in a normal project without any problems. But you NEED a second generation board (Pulsar2, Luna or Scope2) to load the reverbs. If you get PCI overflows its not a problem with DSP power but your PCI bandwidth. I can optimize the reverbs but not without changing the sound. I dont have any plans regarding this at the moment - R100/C100 (Hall/Concert Hall) will be released before any thing else.

@Astroman : I hate working with MIDI in the Scope SDK. What about the solution in the update of the CD100? Is that usable?

Cheers

One of my boards is a Luna II which gives me ULL. I can report that even with a single Ambience loaded, the computer seems to bomb more often.

I don't regret my purchase. It is indeed very high quality sounding reverb. Perhaps an AMD64 would help?
