a scope project card, sfp, and tripledat le, scope fx is a new product to be for sale SOON.

the card we all know..., it was triple le i was interested in. my feelings about it are mixed at this point. i'm betting that cutmasterxp and tripledat pro(cutmaster is already available, triple pro should be soon...) will make up for the things that a missing in le, i'm sure. i'll check them out in a couple of days. right now, afaik, these products are not official yet, so take what i say with a grain of salt....

as to what's good, it's definitely the sound. triple le is 32bit and it is clean as a whistle. playback is identical to the source material, really! triple le is meant to be a limited version of tdat and it is. le is only 8 stereo tracks. still, that's nice for someone with their first daw. for about the same money as a vs880 type recorder, one gets an EASY to operate 8 track recorder with scope mixers and effects. the le software includes the scope routing window, scope mixers and effects (and i'll bet the synths can be used as well, but i'll double check that soon). it is upgradable to triple pro and, of course, the scope project card can do all the things any other scope card can do, function and upgrade-wise.

my dislikes?
well....tdat le has no midi clock functions that i could find, making it impossible to sync with a midi sequencer. this is a fatal flaw, i suspect. i understand that both cutmaster and tdat pro will have midi clock, i'll check this very soon. i also didn't see any punch in/out function, another sad ommission for such an otherwise easy and functional product. there was no input monitoring that i caould find, however this problem is minor since one could still route input signals to a mixer(including a scope mixer IN the routing window) via the routing window. the cutting options in the wav editing windows seemed a little strange to me(cut everything in front of or behind the cursor), maybe they are a holdover from radio editing....

to be fair, the problems may have solutions i haven't found, i worked with it for a very short time and further investigation is warranted. i just checked into what i could find without the manual. this is a simple, straight-forward program aimed at begginners....i'll check the full versions in a day or two.

There's also this:

_______________

Almost 10 years after CreamWare introduced their original “OSIRIS Sonic Restoration Package”, OSIRIS XP is a more than worthy successor to the classic restoration tool for CreamWare’s tripleDAT. OSIRIS XP is the result of a whole decade of further intense research and development in the restoration area by Algorithmix. As much as OSIRIS provided sensational quality at its time, the mid 90ies, the new OSIRIS XP sets another new benchmark for sonic restoration at its best.

System requirements: DSP board, software version 3.1c or newer, PC

______________________

I don't know much about this package. It looks like it'll work with anybody's Scope board. What's included?

THAT looks to be a good thing!
the original was a very high-end audio cleaner/restoration plugin which virtually sold the original tdat by itself. this promises to be an improvement so i'm looking forward to it. yes, it will work on anybody's card. a bit pricey but should be worth it.....

Why the " limited offer " on OSIRIS ? in quantity or after a certain date the price will rise ? :???:

I used and still have the old tripledat card in my $2000 machine P133 with 32 megs and my 4 gig HD. the tripledat ISA and Osiris at that time was da bomb. It was very expensive but it paid for itself with the first couple months.

I see the new Osiris out and I am getting that old feeling of MUST BUY.

I am sure this version is a big improvement to the old one.

At last couple new packages from CWA just in time for X-mas.

We hope to see more and more new stuff in the coming year,

this may have been translated wrong into english.
Since it is a plugin the word limited is not the proper word used and I am sure they means introductory offer and it should expires in few weeks and the price goes up.

We have seen this in other devices. they start with an introductory offer and then after couple of month the price goes up.

You're right antar, in german it's Einführungspreis but they don't tell when and how much the new price will be ...
I've nothing to restore but do you see alternative uses of OSIRIS ?

I emailed them regarding the word limited and I quoted your post and they promised to fix that on Monday. They said they will replace the word Limited by introductory.

I used the old version of osiris and it was great. I believe the new one is much more advanced and this is a plugin for those who love to restore libraries of old records/tapes/movies etc...

I am seriousely eying this plugin. It is a must have for me.

as for regular price compared to introductory price. I hope they fix that too so we know what the savings are. I will get this to their attention again.

Didn't Algorithmix also license NR technologies to Waves (while also releasing their own product called Sound Laundry)?

Yes dArKr3zIn.

Altho Waves have not used it "as is".
and "sound laundry" is a lower quality suit not to compete with their licensed versions.

Thanks antar, I hope( for them and then later for us ) that they'll make it a front page info at least.
O.T : I think they have hit ( or gone through ) the bottom of most basic marketing antics lately ...
Could be worse though : end of website and we would have to stick to hoods, tatoos showing and hand signs, all at night ... in gloomy back streets !

An update (or upgrade?) from old osiris to the new osiris XP would be great ...
