Would it be possible to have an option to deselect the CPVM on bootup and then have it start when you open the Copperlan program?

No because the CPVNM is needed for any CopperLan application or hardware. The plug&play offered by CopperLan is only possible if the CPVNM is awake continuously. It ...

As far I know we have fixed this issue... what is the CopperLan version installed on your computer?

Here is a link to the latest stable build of CopperLan. It is the 1.2(8) candidate, not yet published officially. Let me know if it fixes your issue.
