still ,cilcks and pops start to happen after a while.i am curious about the usb ports sharing irqs with the 2nd pulsar2.one of them has the steinberg dongle and the other has the ups cable.i think i will go for another usb ...

hi there..
after having 5 sleeples nights, i can finally say that the system is up and woking again.
having solved the allkeys problem, i thought that all was ok...but no...suddenly cracks and pops emerged out of nowhere....
dsp load at 35%, cubase cpu load at 30%, ulli settings at 13 ms, irqs were ...

but i am trying to get over this allkeys thing. :( i can't get the mix n master pack going.it says "found corrup data in product registry".i emailed ralph for the new file and he sent back but no chance.the search continues :)

hello again
after your suggestions i managed to get another irq free for the other card and
i think i finally got it going.the system seems stable for an hour :) we did some guitar takes on an old project and nothing crazy occured.except that the new setup significantly outperforming the old one ...

thanks garyb for the smbus tip.it has a yellow question mark after re-install.so i will leave it as it is.
i will go disabling some more usbs though

i think i can get the system going late tonight and then i will post the out come

i am installing the xp again right now (in acpi, none offense taken there:)) , so i will post the outcome as soon as i finish it.
i am much relieved with the things you told about usb ports since i wont need that much ports and will not use them in recordings.

we're using miditerminal 4140 by esi audio for multiple midi devices.it's a simple cheap device, works ok..serial though. :smile:

check your irq's also.a freeze problem i had, was about my pulsar and network card was sharing irq's though it did not report any conflicts.

i had the same freeze problem for a week that driven me crazy.mine was about the network card and pulsar was sharing irq's.even it did NOT show.i had to change slots and disable two usb ports(as well as parallel-serial infrared vs..)now it works fine still on acpi mode.

the absolute solution would be the closet approach as garyb pointed out or moving the system to the room next door.we drilled a hole in the wall and put the two pc's in that room.having made so much investment for quieter machines, i think this is the ultimate solution.if you have the slightest ...

got it fixed..you were right , the irq listings was not correct.i made a pci slot change, disabled two usb ports and voila.seems perfectly working now.still running acpi mode though...
