Headphones

Hi

I have a Pulsar II card and a Samson Servo 260 amp (no headphone out but a stereo phono line out)) I need to find the cheapest way of being able to listen using headphones as I am moving into a 'quiet' house. I don't really want to spend a lot and am wondering what the options are.

Cheers

Well, you may be right, SP2 or not it seems to be a lot better now, audio/midi are now more in sync, I had wordclock transmitting on my ADAT convertor which may not have helped.

So all back to normal, for the moment!

Cheers all for help

Custom Install with Win XP, I've worked it out.

One more thing, seems now I have great midi timing, but midi and audio are noticibly out of sync, this was not the case before.

Anything I can try

Probably a clean install again..

OK, after a bit of e-mailing with CW I seem to be getting closer.

Setting PC to Standard PC has solved the timing issues, I think, fingers crossed.

Still getting the note on/off data recorded during the count in, but that I can work around by leaving a bar or so empty at start.

One thing that ...

Contacts seem ok, a little worn but only very slightly. Will clean when I get a chance.

What do you mean by troublesome? :-0

Do you think my card has had it!

Put card back in, it shut down fine twice and is now back to the restart after shutdown again.

I didn't have whip connected, whip is the one that came with the Pulsar II card. Audio (in out) & Midi (in/out/thru) and Dig (in/out)

If the whip is not connected and it's back to not shutting down again ...

OK

1. Tried a different controller keyboard - no difference

2. Tried Pulsar in another PC - no difference

Have yet to clean contacts as I'm not sure where to get the 'rubbing alcohol' from and which gold contacts I am cleaning. Can anyone help me out?

One thing is that since i built my new PC it ...

I've thought about that, but the only problem is in order to test the midi problem I need to input from midi keyboard. Could also be though that the controller keyboard is faulty..Will try to get hold of another to check this.

Yep, sorry, soved the audio glitches (didn't make that vey clear) but cheers for tips anyway. It seem that as soon as I had put that to rest then the midi goes bananas, never mind! Going to try a difeerent mobo and also clean the contacts, see if that helps, if not.......I'm stuck!

I can try putting card in my sister's PC this weekend see what happens. It does seem like something has just 'broken' as i have had no problems at all (apart from audio glitches) until this midi problem in the past couple of months. I can only describe it as whatever midi goes into cubase is being ...

Will try cleaning the contacts..it's quite an old card and has been in and out of a few PC's. What exactly am I cleaning, the contacts where the card connect to the mobo, or the ones on the edge of the cad, or both..? Think the mobo might be ok as it runs fine otherwise.

I agree and did this last night, I completely re-formatted, only intstalled scope and cubase. Recorded a part and no difference.

I have no idea anymore, could it be hardware related, is there any chance that the midi on the Pulsar board has gone astray?

Another point is that a restart of Cubase ususally fixes at least the timing problem for a while, notes played in the count in still magically appear at the start of the bar (never used too!) but the timing gradually gets worse and worse, until I restart again.

I'm sorry to come back to this but I am almost starting to cry it's been going on so long with no solution and is so disrupting. I used to have rock solid midi timing, no probelms at all, bang on. I also used to be able to play what I liked during a count in without it showing up in the actual ...

Done all that, I can only assume now that it is not cubase related, but something to do with my midi setup. I have ordered some new midi cables to see if that helps. Either that or it could be my controller keyboard..Oh well

I have a new mobo Intel D865 Perl

I still can't understand why notes played during the click count-in before cubase starts recording all jump to the start of the 1st bar of the recorded part.

For me whatever is causing this must be the source of the problem of timing and duplicate notes I am ...

I've tried everything concerning Ignore port filter etc. I am only using creamware midi in/out not emulated ports. Has anyone any idea why if I play midi before cubase in the count-in starts recording it show up in the recorded part, surely this is very strange..I never used to have this problem??

In a little more detail, because it is starting to do my head in..!

When I first load Cubase, midi is sometimes fine. If I close a project and open a new one it seems to have got worse, phantom notes, random notes in the chord in the wrong place, double notes, usually at start.

Interestingly a ...
