I installed XP SP2. It seemed to do something as I can't recall changing anything hardwarewise. Now I can load 6 MasterVerb Classics in SFP and the 7th introduces distortion. In SX I can get 4 XTC MasterVerbs loaded and the 5th one causes the 'PCI-Master-Overflow!' notification. This low XTC ...

I just got my new setup up and running and everything seemed swell until I started Cubase SX 1.06 and tried loading some XTC plugins. The plugins distort sound. It isn't the 'too much gain' type of digital distortion but the 'out of sync' type.

When I run the basic SFP and put some Lama Whipping in ...

So I'm safe with buying a pair of identical dimms and if I need another pair even another brand will work as long as the pairs are identical?

How much RAM do you concider enough in heavy DAW use? I have a Powerbook which I use as software sampler and synthesizer, so the PC is just doing the mix. I ...

I discussed with one of the local computer dealers about the amount of memory and he said that 1,5 gigs with three indentical 512 meg dimms isn't a good amount because dual channel support requires indentical dimms in pairs. He also assumed that a pair of 512 megs and a pair of 256 megs won't do the ...

Is the Northwood really faster as the Prescott has twice the amount of L1 and L2 caches? Is this information based on an article you could link here or is this your own opinion?

In your opinion, do you think this particular motherboard causes the problems, or is it the chipset? I really wouldn't like to buy Intel, because I use my DAW for all sorts of editing, so I need a stable system for DSP cards AND a fast CPU for a reasonable price.

Yes but I haven't had any problems with it before I installed the Midiman drivers. Seems that the Midiman installer has left something to the register.

I installed Midiman Midisport drivers to my OS X 10.1 and something went wrong. Now I cannot modify the root directory of the Macintosh HD. The subdirectories can be changed. The price of about 100 euros is only for the update, not the Pulsar software itself (the SRB doesn't include the software licence, right?). The ADAT plate alone costs over 300 euros so the price isn't that terrible. The Pulsar software seems to need an I/O, I just wonder why isn't it possible to buy ...

Have you enabled the I/Os in Cubase's ASIO Scope control panel? Try to reload the I/Os through the control panel. It might help if for example the I/O crashes during the loading of Cubase.

I've had somewhat all the installation problems mentioned here with SFP and earlier software versions. For some reason my Creamwares always works best when everything else is installed and I then reinstall the drivers and install the software. Seems obvious but still..
