I ended up montioring out of my analog outs and recording the vocals through one of the adat channels, is this the best way ?

I'm trying to record a vocalist into Ableton 8.0
But I seem to be getting the asio mix going into the channel I want to record the vocals into (1&2)
In simpler terms

Vocalist hears backing track
computer records vocals but not backing track.
And I can still hear DAW mix

How should I configure the ...

Is pulsar compatible with i7/quad core?

Hiya,

Haven't checked in for a while, but maybe its because I rarely get any probs with my pulsar 1 card.

I'm about to take the leap into the quad core / i7 upgrade
and just wondered if my Pulsar 1 (running scope 4.5 software) will be compatible
I will be moving over from xp 32 bit to xp 64 bit ...

now my PC is suprisingly performing well I have put together a great track in cubase and still got enough cpu to use the scope!

so I want to run the lead line through some of the effects

whats the most effective way of keeping all the track together but taking the lead line out and ...

For the recored and anyone that might find this post in a search -I can put this post to bed now as my PC is back up and running!!!! (I Hope)

after taking the batterry out of the motherboard and putting it back again (same one) and installing windows xp over the top of my original installation ...

My pulsar 1 card has been doing that for a year now, every 3 or 4 times asking for the key, I now have the key permantly on my desktop so I can import it straight in! maybe its time to clean the contacts then!

After a good nights sleep, I went into the studio this morning and fired up this problematic PC. on first boot the monitors did not display, but the tower is on...

Ok so I took the cooling unit out, cleaned off about 3 sinks full of dust using dry tissues and cotton buds.

replaced the unit back onto the processor and my cpu temperature is back down to 40 celcius

(should've done that a long time ago, didnt realise it was that caked in dust)

anyway so got PC ...

All boards seem to be seated correctly.

Processor temperature is running between 75% and 85% celcius
whats the best way to bring the temp down without installing a new cooling system

cpu fan speed 3500rpm

(p.s. I have already changed the cpu fan speed to higher)

well I should have known...
PC back up and running, everything seems fine
then I open Cubase start playing a project and then....TOTAL SHUT DOWN AGAIN

argghh

what is up with the pesky thing, why is it doing that
now im back 2 square one, keeps shutting down.....

Well believe it or not, the display is working now perfectly
well wierd, why are pcs so inconsistent?

anyway had to re-install all my mobo drivers for some reason, testing the system now, i'll be back with a report, on whether its survived or gonna be replaced

I can't re-install windows with no display

I am frantically looking for someone with the same symptons but no joy.

Basically the display monitors will not display anything they just say "no signal present"

tried 2 graphics cards both acting the same

monitors are brand new practically ...

it shouldn't be infected as its nots connected to the internet and I haven't installed much apart from loading on more samples lately

tried 2 graphics cards

the power issue seems to be ok now ive fitted the new power supply, could my mobo be partially dead? hope not.....

I've just fitted a 500 watt power supply and everything is currently on.

But my monitors won't kick in and display, it just says "no signal present"

any ideas to try to get the monitors on?
