Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
My priorities have been changing over time. About a decade ago computer based music production had a higher priority than it has now. Now computers, storage, music distribution & networking have become a higher priority.

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
Off topic: The cakewalk article specifically states that the test results are an indication at best, and that real world experience with more test systems is needed when Windows 8 is widely available to confirm or invalidate the results.

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
Please stop the posts "I'm still using XP, why upgrade". I'm happy for you if you're happy with Windows XP, make your own thread for that. Please focus on the problem, lack of Windows 8 support, which seems to be caused by unsigned drivers. A workaround for that is to put Windows 8 in 'Test Mode ...

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
Well, you need to be able to install unsigned drivers, since the Sonic Core drivers aren't signed. This is how you allow unsigned drivers in Windows 8:
"You can permanently enable Test Mode () by opening an Elevated Command Prompt and typing the following commands, then rebooting:
bcdedit -set ...

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
Yes, it IS an official Windows 8 version, it has been released officially on August 15. The retail version will be released on October 26. (Which make my comments, I must admit, look premature)
Thanks for your great suggestion about driver signing options, I will look into that!

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
I'm not angry, and am sorry if it looked that way. I just wanted to express my disappointment...
And yes, I do think having the latest Windows, which has already been released to MSDN and Volume License clients, is important to me. (or OSX for that matter)

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
There's only one application/device not working on my Windows 8 (x64) system. That's Scope PCI. I'm guessing it's the Scope PCI driver that's problematic, I expect that the Scope PCI application software would work as it did on Windows 7 if only the driver could be loaded.

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
The response I received from Sonic Core support:
"it's not just a matter of a driver. the program must also work. at this time, there is no win8 version. there are also almost no professional audio applications with win8 versions, so this matter won't be addressed until after v6 is finished."

Re: Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
I'm really getting tired about 'Windows 8 is not supported' comments. Of course Windows 8 isn't supported, but didn't the Sonic Core development team know Windows 8 has been in the works? That it would be released this year? Most of the 'pro' audio applications don't 'support' Windows 8, but ...

Windows 8 x64: Unable to install Scope driver
Hi,
I just upgraded my Windows 7 (x64) to Windows 8 (x64) (RTM). However, I'm unable to install the Scope driver (x64). Has anyone encountered this problem and better yet, solved it?

Re: Scope PCI 64bit testing
I think Verypsb is talking about XTC Mode wich i assume scope plugins will still need a bridge to work in 64bit host just as 32bit Native plugins need one. To my knowledge this is the Natur of dsp-card plugins and a bridge is required for all dsp Platform plugins running as VST's (e.g. UAD ...

Re: Scope PCI 64bit testing
That may be true, but what about x64 compatibility when using a x64 host? Think about the 32-bit VST problems when using a 64-bit host. Or would that be an driver?astroman wrote:the extended adressing has not a single advantage for what the SFP system does.

Is VSTIM/XTC something that can be tested/used? Or is it just not working?

Re: SCOPE 5.1
As far as i see it Sonic Core only made one announcement about 64bit on this forum, the rest is hearsey and private emails. Nothing official on the website or in magazine articles declaring without a doubt the 64bit version will be release on a specific day, no promises made, no word given, no ...
