Re: A16u Faulty Power Button

Try to fix the button so it’s locked in a permanent on-position.
Then add a switchable power socket for the PSU.

Re: Epic Total Meltdown of my 3 card Scope System

never heard of -5V supply lines...
you probably meant -12V, which is quite common for opamps and I‘d expect that on the cards.
(just dunno for sure, but could check... yes, it‘s there: PCI pin 1 (-12V) is routed to IO board header of Pulsar II)

Re: A question about STS

However, will I need to go win7? I guess I also can install win10 in 32 bit? I tend to believe that the newer 10, will give me a little less support hassle down the road. Or is win 7 a safer route?

Are there culprits in using a newer machine with more features, ram and cpu?
Since I plan on ...

Re: Epic Total Meltdown of my 3 card Scope System

I have a somewhat similar system (same socket, but 875 chipset) Asus P4C800 using a mobile P4 2Ghz (Northwood iirc).
The Bios can adjust CPU core voltage, but the „interesting“ voltages only show up if 1 pin ist bent off.
(the pin is easily accessible and I even bent it back to verify the Bios ...

Re: Epic Total Meltdown of my 3 card Scope System

You may inspect the circuit just above the slot in the area of the card closest to the back of the PC.

I once got a Pulsar II with a short in that area... (a copper line burnt off the circuit).
The previous owner possibly handled the card in a powered PC and accidently hit something, dunno.
Such ...

Re: new Computer, still Scope?

Yes, due to it‘s very low raw io latency (no Asio) an external Scope is quite useful indeed.
It performs like any 19“ rack device.
You may include your favorite Scope devices in any DAW that way.
Outstanding: the „unfinished“ UM-1280 by Relab (a partial Ursa Major Spacestation).
I also like some ...

Re: A question about STS

I have an MPC4000 (an Akai Z4 sampler in disguise plus a groove sequencer) and consider it on an equal level of sophistication as Scope.
But I wouldn‘t hesitate 1 minute to replace it by Spectrasonics Stylus, if it was only about the groove. ;)
For any non-perfect finger drummer Stylus does the same ...

Re: A question about STS

STS Samplers do NOT work in 64bit... see the 1st sentence of your quote above.
That‘s why Eiffel65Fan used a 32bit system.
But the „problem“ wasn‘t related to the sampler in the 1st place, it was about routing of Vocoder signals. ;)
You may in fact „load“ Scope plugins that are NOT 64-bit compatible ...

Re: no need to cry after sts samplers, vst does it also better

Imho it’s not only the 64bit mode, but the whole Win infrastructure has changed.
I simultanously admire and deeply regret anyone who dares to mess with that stuff... :-? :D

Matter of fact is that Native Instrument established a new sampling standard with Kontakt.
Spectrasonics took the classic ...

... In fact, everything except masterclock is slave.

Rosendahl Nanosyncs masterclock runs BNC wordclock "startype" to RME Raydat´s WC-module, SCOPE PCI w/ Syncplate and Noah EX.

Re: XITE-1 Laptop Recommendations?

Yes, but signal amplification in that context means a higher voltage is applied, but only few current is drawn.
The „switching“ chip on the card isn‘t a power soak either, so generally it‘s non critical... imho.

Re: XITE-1 Laptop Recommendations?

I don‘t know the exact specs, but way lower than 24Watt, probably 1/10th of that amount... if at all.
It‘s simply a „logic level“ device and doesn‘t have to deal with „power“.

Re: how to set Scope 7 for recording from Z-link 8 channel BOX

The Luna Box is only visible in Scope (the PCI card controls it‘s in/out)
You‘d route the Luna Box channels to/from Scope to DAW via Asio channels.
There are different Asio type versions, some of them start with just a single io-pair.
But you can expand (or define the number of channels) if you open ...

Re: quick amplitude normalisation ?

Imho it‘s not possible to (auto) adjust gain based on peak values because it skips spectral content.
It‘s probably best to shift comparison of 2 (or more) lines of Scope effects to the end of chain and do it in CPU mode.
(afaik it‘s difficult/not possible in the DSP‘s tiny audio segments)

My ...
