Well since 1 year i had problems with pulsar and since another 6 months with pulsar2.

"pci capacity limit reached" - "Installation Error" - "crickling sounds on sts sampler" - "sample rate change block" and others.!

well i think Creamware need much better software engineers!!!
better and much more ...

This is on of my problems too.!
I do use also Win XP!
example when i use CD-Xtract and click on a sound to listen and while listen if i click on another sound it loops to hell till the new sound comes to hear.!
its really enoying.!
But will the Re-install of DX 8.1 really help? i will watch out.!!

I had a pulsar1 before,but never had crickles or pci capacity limit reached problems. BUT i had another problem after a time wich didn't change the sample rate anymore.it was bloked on 44.1 and never could get it to other sample rates. while trying that it was blinking on and off.

When i try to play some samples on sts3000,i do get creaking sounds. i have downloaded the new sts3000 for v3.01. and i do use win XP pro in standard pc mode.
maybe do i have less ram? 256mb but the pulsar is empty nothing loaded in cubase either. and normally it should be enough ram and power ...

Minipax i recommend u to take the sblive out of your pc. cause pulsar and sblive doesn't really work fine together,and u never can know when an error will appear or problem while using both. i had another problem with using both and had to change the pci for pulsar and had to take the sblive out ...

but now everything is different like:

i formatted C: and did install windows XP pro version.
but still when i installed pulsar2 i got the messages again ...

I have a pulsar2 and i was working with it till yesterday it suddenly stoped to load it self. i re-installed the version 3.00 and 3.01 and tryied also the old 2.04 version but still i get strange messages.
like:

Hardware cannot be setup properly;
installation error:Pulsar2 SRAMTest ...

As many others i do have also the Pulsar2. and the damn mobo asus P3v4x via apollo pro133a chipset,and have the same problems with PCI CAPACITY LIMIT REACHED messeges.! this messeges comes up when i just use the sts2000p or sts3000 device. i don't even need to have any other module in the board ...
